    Type of input stage

We now know about the CS stage and its balanced versions and about local feedback stages, such as the CG stage and the CD stage. The question to be answered are:

    1. What are the relevant performance aspects of the input stage?
    2. Which type of stage should we use for the input stage of the controller?

    Presentation

The presentation “Type of Input Stage” briefly summarizes the design considerations for the type of input stage.

    Chapter 14.2.1

Noise model of the CS input stage

Now that we have selected the negative feedback transimpedance integrator with CS input stage, we need to design its noise behavior. To this end we need an adequate noise model for the active antenna.

    Presentation

The presentation “Noise model of the CS input stage” discusses the modeling of the noise behavior of the active antenna with a CS type input stage.

Noise design of the CS input stage

The design parameters of the CS input stage are:

    1. The width and the length of the channel
    2. The operating current

    Presentation

The presentation “Design of the CS input stage” discusses the way in which an initial guess for the design parameters can be found. Final values are obtained from simulation.
